What we help with

Trauma therapy with room for your whole experience

If life still feels loud in your body, your thoughts, or your relationships, we can start there. We work with you at a pace that makes room for what happened and what it left behind.

What people bring us

People often come in feeling stuck in alarm, shut down, or pulled back into old moments without meaning to. Work, sleep, relationships, and daily routines can start to feel harder to manage. Some people can talk about what happened; others only know that their body stays on guard. We help sort through what feels present now and what keeps getting activated.

  • I’m always bracing for something.
  • I know it’s over, but my body doesn’t.
  • I can talk about it, then feel flooded.
  • I keep going numb when things get close.

We make room for experience, not just explanation.

How we work with it

We listen for patterns in how trauma shows up in the body, in relationships, and in everyday reactions. Depending on what fits, we may use talking, body awareness, or more experiential work to help you notice what happens in real time. If you come as a couple or family, we also pay attention to how trauma affects the space between people. The work stays paced and relational, with room to slow down when needed.

Somatic Therapy
We pay attention to posture, sensation, breathing, and the body’s response as part of the work. That can help when words alone do not reach what is still being carried.
Equine-assisted Psychotherapy
For some trauma work, we add time with horses so you can notice response, connection, and safety in real time. That experiential setting can offer another way to understand what your body is saying.
Neurocounseling
We bring in nervous-system awareness so the work can include why you may stay stuck in fight, flight, or shutdown. That can help us make sense of patterns that feel automatic.
Brainspotting
We use focused attention to help you stay with experience that may be hard to describe. The process is quiet and steady, with room for what comes up without having to force it.

What the first sessions look like

The first sessions are about hearing your story in the way you can tell it. We talk about what feels most urgent, what your body does when things get stirred up, and what kind of work feels workable right now. You do not need to have your story organized before you start.

We offer a free 15-minute consultation. We respond as soon as we can.

Questions people ask

Can therapy for trauma stay at a pace I can handle?

Yes. We go step by step and pay attention to what feels workable in the room.

Do I have to talk through everything that happened?

No. You can begin with what feels most present now, even if the whole story is not ready.

What if I feel numb instead of upset?

That can be part of trauma work too. We pay attention to numbness, distance, and shutdown as real responses.

Can trauma show up in my relationships now?

Yes. We often look at how old hurt affects trust, closeness, conflict, and distance today.
